LUGGED CHROMOVELATO FRAME

A Cromovelato finish is where a completely chromed frame is painted with a coloured clear coat which gives it a glossy almost translucent finish, not unlike candy.
I believe this technique is no longer used because the chemicals involved are bad for the environment, so frames like the lugged eighties one below are become increasingly hard to find.
This one sold on eBay for just over £500.00 ($810.00)

IS THIS THE LIGHTEST ROSSIN?

Spotted at a Mark Cavendish/Sky Ride promotional event in Regents Park, this is an 80's Rossin frame that has been built up with a Dura Ace groupset and nice light wheels.
This is easily the lightest Rossin I've ever come across that's for sure. A really classy rebuild that Lee Barrett its owner says rides like a dream.
We discussed holding a vintage Rossin 'rally' at Richmond Park some day. Nice idea?
More details about the build when I have them, hopefully.
If you think your Rossin might be lighter, send me the details and a photo and I'll had it here or in the Readers' Rossins section.

BREAKING AWAY ON A ROSSIN?

Everyone's favourite cycling movie 'Breaking Away' (1979) features Dennis Christopher playing wannabe pro cyclist Dave Stoller.
In the famous scene where Stoller drafts behind a Cinzano lorry he's clearly on a Masi with a frame very similar the one shown below, but in the scene where he's knocked off his bike by the Italian cycling team he's apparently riding a Rossin. If anyone has a copy of the movie could you take a look for me? [elprez (at) hotmail.co.uk]

LATER ROSSINS - BOXER, PERFORMANCE, TROFEO, MAESTRO

Rossin Performance EL
Rossin Performance

Rossin Boxer as used by Team Mobilvetta 2001

Frame and Fork: Dedaccai SC61.10A K.E.T. oversize 6000 aluminum tubing; Mizuno carbon fiber fork; integrated headset
Group: Shimano Dura-Ace nine speed; Look Pedals
Wheels and Tires: Ritchey Rims; Michelin Axial Pro clinchers
Saddle: Selle Italia Prolink; Ritchey seatpost
Bars and Stem: Ritchey
Other: Mobilvetta - Trentini Formaggi team boss Stefano Giuliani was once European masters MTB champion; thus his predilection for Ritchey components? Many pro teams use the Ritchey seatpost because of its unusual 2mm extra setback.
