One of the lightest Rossin framesets, the Prestige used hexagonal tange steel |
GARY FOUNTAIN'S ROSSIN PRESTIGE
This Rossin Prestige was probably built around 1990. Gary Fountain put it together with Campy bits and pieces mainly from the C-Record era. He added ITM stem & bars, along with a Concor Profil saddle. The paintwork is original and the chrome is in perfect condition.
Tubing is Tange Prestige which has been specially shaped with 6 facets. Every tube, stay and fork blade has six facets that blend into a round section - except for the steerer tube which is round in section. All tubes end in a lug of some sort or other.
The Prestige has Rossin pantographs where you don't often see them |
The colour is hard to describe - sort of a metallic pinky, coppery, brown.
Unusual fork crown AND HERE'S A PRESTIGE MID EIGHTIES FRAME: ONE MORE PRESTIGE FRAME FROM THE 1980s Octagonal Tange Prestige tubing (even the chainstay and seatstays) |
